Dial-Up Networking Setup
Windows XP comes with everything you need to get connected, including a web browser and an Internet email client.
No additional software is required to use the Internet, but feel free to use whatever Internet applications you're most comfortable with.
Requirements
- Windows XP Home Edition pre-installed on your computer
- 14,400 bps modem (28,800 bps or faster recommended)
- Battle Foundry user information
- Administrator privileges on the Windows XP machine.
When you have met all these requirements, follow these steps to perform the installation and configuration.
1. Launch the Internet Connection Wizard.
- Select Start > Control Panel.
- When the Control Panel opens, click on Network and Internet Connections.
- When the Network and Internet Connections window opens, click on Setup or Change your Internet Connections.
- When the Internet Properties window opens, select the Connections tab, and click on the Setup... button.
2. When the Welcome screen opens, click Next button to continue.
3. Select Connect to the Internet then click Next.
4. Select Set up my connection manually then click Next to continue.
5. Select Connect using a dial-up modem then click Next to continue.
6. Enter Battle Foundry for the ISP Name then click Next to continue.
7. Enter 612-746-0298 for the Phone number then click Next to continue.
8. Enter your user name and password (password text is not shown).
- Remember that your user name includes the @battlefoundry.net and should be in all lowercase.
- Check the Use this account name and password box.
- Check the Make this the default Internet connection box.
- Make sure the Turn on Internet Connection Firewall box is not checked.
- Click Next to continue.
9. Check the Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop box then click Finish.
